Situated in the Okanagan Valley, with a population of approximately 13,000 – you can experience the beauty of Lake Country all year long.

Shop for Fresh Fruit at the Local Farmer’s Market 

You can hand pick some of the most delicious fruit at the local market on Friday afternoons at the Farmer’s Market. You can expect high quality, delicately handled fruit filled with much love from the land. It is a small vibrant market located in a grassy area in Swalwell Park beside the water park.  There are a variety of vendors that sell fruits, vegetables, eggs, crafts, sewing, art, plants, flowers, food, etc., for all your local shopping needs. All products are baked, grown or handmade by the vendors. Come out and support the local Lake Country Community Market!

Open from beginning of June to the end of September at Swalwell Park (10090 Bottom Wood Lake Road) on Fridays from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. See you there!

As you might imagine, Lake Country, in the heart of the beautiful Okanagan area of British Columbia, is all about lakes! Enjoy time swimming, boating or relaxing on the beaches of Wood Lake, Okanagan Lake and Kalamalka Lake. So if you are looking to get your daily dose of vitamin D or to lay down and let your stress melt away the beaches are the place to be!

Hike the Family-Friendly Spion Kop Trails

While Spion Kop isn’t the largest mountain in the North Okanagan but it could compete for one the best views, which include views of Wood Lake, Okanagan Lake, and Ellison Lake. The beautiful Spion Kop recreation area, currently Crown Land, is over 880 acres! Rent a Boat and Explore Wood Lake

Experience the stunning beauty of this spectacular lake – only non motorized boats are allowed on this divine piece of work.  With gorgeous sandy beachfront shores, Wood Lake is the go-to destination for water activity enthusiasts. An amazing gateway to more than 50km of water recreation, sparkling Wood Lake is connected by canal to Kalamalka Lake–the most beautiful lake in the Okanagan. Add to that Wood Lake’s well-deserved reputation for excellent rainbow trout fishing and you have the setting for the perfect holiday -adventure abounds in the great outdoors. With direct beach access, this incredible setting is a windfall for kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding.

Be Inspired at September’s ArtWalk, Showcasing 300+ Artists

For two days every September, more than 300 artists and over 7000 visitor gather to share in the joy of art. This is a community event that began in 1994 and has since expanded into a Lake Country Tradition. Visit the Kangaroo Creek Farm

This is a must-have experience – Kangaroo Creek Farm has been keeping both kangaroos and wallabies for more than 20 years. Also on site they have emu, peacocks, fancy chickens, goats, parrots, a baby albino wallaby, baby kangaroos and pot bellied pigs. They also have capybara, the world’s largest rodent, which can weigh more than 150 lbs! You can plan your visit here. 

Entertain Friends and Family at Creekside Theatre

Looking for live entertainment and a night out? Look no further than creekside theatre! You can catch fine films, live theatre and music almost any night of the week. The Creekside Theatre is located in the Community Complex at 10241 Bottom Wood Lake Road. The theatre seats 266 and offers an intimate theatre experience. The theatre has hosted an array of events from movies for kids to Ballet Kelowna. 

Get your Adrenaline Pumping – and go Zip-lining!
